My Hygena 8224 dishwasher has not been heating the water. We got the error code E3 and have checked the following:

    The element has low resistance

The thermal cut out (?) has low resistance between the two white terminals, and all other combinations (yellow to yellow and white to yellow) are high resistance

We assume both of these are therefore OK

Is there anything else that is easy to check, or do we need an engineer?

    Thanks in advance

Check for broken leads in the door wiring where it hinges, not an unusual problem 😉

All your other reading appear to be OK.

    Power off of course :zap:

Thanks, we suspected that may be it. It sounds easier than it looks.

The wires go around the hinge in a flat black plastic wrapper – does that unplug somehow? Or do we have to remove covers until we can see the ends of the wires, and then check continuity from the ends?

Can you identify the most likely one?

Having found one – is there an easy way of replacing it?

Is there any manual / diagram available that would help?

    Thanks again

No, they don’t unplug, you need to unwrap the covering tape and visually inspect them, it’ll be obvious when you find one if it’s broken.

No manuals I’m afraid, if you need further assistance it may be wise to call an engineer, Repairs@ should provide one 🙂
