    Hello

I have a 7 year old hygena APL8124 Dishwasher which has so far given reliable service – until now

When filling at the start of the cycle, water can be seen leaking from under the door. I have cleaned the bottom of the door to remove gunk etc but still leaking.
What I have noticed, however, is that the fill time seems to go on for a long time, and that the water level reaches a level higher than the bottom of door – is this normal?
I have been looking for some sort of level detection device at the bottom of the m/c thinking maybe it is fouled up, but cannot find.

    Any ideas please?

    Regards

    Ian

    Re: Hygena APL8124 Ovefilling?

This is one of the early Brandt-built machines sold under the Hygena name. To be honest, it’s a complete swine to work on – I’m a pro and I struggle with them. The pressure switches are round with a skinny air hose running to them. Simple fix is to blow back through and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn’t, follow the hose and start dismantling and cleaning.

Assuming that I haven’t frightened you off, pull the plug first.

Otherwise, click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area. I hope you’re not in N. Leeds……….. 😀

    Thanks for your help

Turns out that the fill switch is on the side of the machine, actuated by a float mechanism.
Wobbled the float about for a bit and the machine is now behaving itself

Incidentally, I found a schematic drawing inside this machine, if it is any use, I will scan it in and post, let me know

    Regards
