Hi guy’s, my hygena apl8213 was working faultlessly and has for 10yrs. I sell my house and yesterday it stopped!
Fault: Turn the knob to wash or rinse and the water seams to be filling (gurglin sound down the left, near the thin plastic container) cycle moves on after about 30sec, all seams to stop after that, then about a minute passes and it empties itself. Water must be getting in because it drains cold water out. on opening the dishwasher nothings wet or even damp and the heater is stone cold.
If i leave it plugged into the mains sat on “stop” after a few minutes it starts to smell, a burning smell, that electrical winding type of smell! no smoke tho. Still i dont leave it on long.
I’ve dragged it out and the black silicon stuff on the back seams to have bubbled, but i don’t know if this has any bearing on the fault. have rung a couple of engineers around the area and they dont wanna know. 10yr old hygena! forget it!! I just need to fix it so i can sell the house(cant really afford a new one 🙁 but may have to bite the bullet on credit card)
Any help/advice much appreciated. Anyone near Scunthorpe?
