I have another problem with the above dishwasher, if I start the program the water will start to fill but will stop after a few seconds. Opening and closing the door a few times and the water starts up again. Initially I thought, must be the usual problem with the door wiring loom but after a few restarts the timer turned enough for the wash cycle to start up. Thats where it stayed, the timer never moved from the first click point on the timer and after 20 mins of washing I gave up. This leads me to think the problem may actually be the timer and not the wiring but to be honest I am at a loss as to which is the most likely. Is there any way in which I can easily trace the problem to either the wiring or the timer?

For a machine that is as old as this one, I am reluctant to spend much on it and unless it is a fix I can do myself (I am an electro-mechanical engineer, so taking things to bits and fixing is no probs) I don’t feel it is cost effective to pay someone to sort it.

    Cheers

    Tony

Having just discovered that the door seal also needs replacing I have decided not to bother with the repair, instead I am going to get a new one, on a tight budget but have narrowed down to 2,

    Beko DWD4310
    Bosch SGS45C02GB

I would prefer the Bosch due to build quality but the reviews state that a normal wash takes 2.5 hours, thats just shocking, so now i’m not sure.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The Bosch will last 5 years at least, the Beko probably 2. Unless you want to run the machine 4 times a day, I know which one I’d buy……

The Bosch has been ordered, better safe than sorry…
