Hello, Im after a bit of help with my washing machine and would appreciate any advice please. 🙁
The drum will not turn over if it is full on the wash cycle, it just moves a little then rolls back again but it will spin fine at top speed. I stripped it expecting to find worn out brushes but there aren’t any so does this mean the motor is shot or could it be the coil (not sure what it’s called!) that fits onto the opposite end of the shaft to the pulley?

    Model no: Hygena apm 8512

    Thanks for reading this

Fairly classic description of capacitor failure (the large white cylinder). This effectively boots the motor up the behind to get it started.

If you ask spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for a 22uf capacitor, they’ll supply for you quickly.

Power off if investigating yourself. Note that the old capacitor may be holding a charge, depending on how it has failed………. Exercise extreme caution.
