We have had this integrated frost-free fridge/freezer for 9 trouble-free years. It came as part of a new kitchen from MFI. Both fridge and freezer sections seem to be at the right sort of temperature, although the thermostat is set to minimum, otherwise the lettuce gets frozen.

Recently we have found a puddle of water keeps appearing on the floor underneath the back (about half a cup per day). The compressor also seems to be running most of the time, although it does stop occasionally. Unfortunately, as it’s built-in, it is a major job to get at the back of it to check out what might be happening.

Having read the pages on this site, I tried turning it off for a few hours in case a drain hole had become frozen, not allowing the the water to evaporate from the top of the compressor. I doesn’t seem to have helped.

Is it fixable or should I be looking to replace it?

Firstly you have to find out where the water is coming from, is it from an overflowing defrost tray (the tray on top of the compressor) a split defrost tray or is it that the insulating foam is actually waterlogged. From what you are saying it would seem that the drain hole is not blocked. What you need to do is get the fridge/freezer out of its cabinet and have a look see. Once you have located the source of the water report back and we’ll help you again.
