(will post model # later when i get home)

When i turned the lights on my hygena cooker extractor hood the other day, bulb flashed brightly, the mains electricity trip switch tripped.

Now the unit wont come on at all.

im kind of hoping its something as simple as needing a new fuse – but cannot find where its plugged into!

It has a kind of steel extention that extends the main ‘chimney’ up so it reaches the cieling. I unscrewed this, but can only move it a couple of inches downwards, so cannot see inside.

    Does anyone know if

    a) it could be the fuse?
    b) if the plug is likely to be in the chimney section (the wire fromt he hood disappears up wards into the chimney)?

    thanks!

It may have blown the PCB sadly (model dependent), most won’t have an internal fuse.

The plug could be anywhere to be honest depending on how it was installed.

    Dave.
