Hygena Diplomat APM 8512 will not drain

Hi,

My machine has stopped draining, it spins, tumbles and goes through the motions, it gets rid of enough water so it is safe to open the door but the clothes are still soaking and soapy. I’ve tried every possible setting but without any success. The instruction manual tells me that this is probably a kinked pipe (it’s not, I can trace the outlet pipe) or a blocked filter. This is not a washer drier, just a washing machine. The instructions tell me that the filter is on the bottom edge but I can’t find it – unless it’s round the back, which means removing the machine to get to it.. does anyone know how to change the filter?

The filter is in the bottom right hand corner of the machine at the front.

You will need to remove the plinth normally to get at it though, generally they are clipped to the unit legs and just pull off but check for screws as well 😉

I can see a circular hole where you describe, it has a plastic cover which can be unscrewed by hand. Once unscrewed it reveals a hole about 2 inches deep. The back of this hole has another small hole in the middle about big enough to put a pencil in. It all seems pretty solid, I can’t see how to get anything like a filter out of it.

The part you unscrewed is the filter 😉

If there’s no coins or anything similar in there then the pump may have failed, you can see that here:
