How do I go about changing one of the bulbs in the above hood?

The instructions are as much use as a hole in a bucket, I quote: “Remove the lamp lense, remove the faulty bulb and replace with a bulb of the same wattage”. It does not say how you actually remove the lense, to remove the blown bulb!

    Thanks.

I don’t have the relevent diagram to hand but the lamp lens should be secured by a screw normally which will give access to the bulb. It will unscrew anti-clockwise. The bulbs are easily obtainable at most electrical outlets 🙂

Hmm, I’ve tried that, however it only moves approx 90 degrees anti clockwise and the whole unit moves (bulb & casing) not just the lense and cover. I don’t want to risk damaging it by forcing it.

Unscrew the whole halogen assembly by giving it about a quarter turn (held in by 3 lugs, should drop down once turned). Once it’s out you’ll find the lens held on with a wire clip that springs off quite easily. Once this is off the bulb should be accessible; it sometimes helps to push it in very slightly as you begin to unscrew it. Take care not to push with any great force because if the bulb breaks in it’s socket it can be a real pain to remove.
Replace bulb & reassemble in reverse order.

Power off before starting please :zap:
