ParticipantOne thing I hate is customers having a go at a repair, find they can’t do it and then give me a call.
Door handle broken, they had purchased a new one but after taking the door apart they could not fit it.
I must admit I have never fitted a new handle to these machines.
There was the handle, door latch, latch spring and latch pin on the floor.
I assembled them in the normal way with the latch spring pushing against the latch, then fitted the pin and handle into the half door frame. The door handle feels very loose as if there should be another spring or plastic moulding for it. Customer says there was no other spring, and a search on connect for that model doesn’t show another spring.
The machine will work if you hold the door shut, but customer not too keen on doing that. 😯
Has anyone had any problem with these before ? 😕
28 years in the trade and I am stumped.
Only another three and a half years to go. 😀 😀 😀Malc

is the inner frame broken? Sounds like the latch has nothing to push against???

Good chance it’s the spring. It has two ‘arms’ they bend and eventually snap. Spring can be bought seperately or the handle/latch etc as an assay. Sorry don’t have pt nos to hand.

Went back today, and within 3 minutes sussed out I had the latch spring legs in the wrong place. Never too old to learn, thanks for your replies.

yes they locate in the little rounded grooves at the front….. sometimes if u look very very closely u will see very small indentations were they have been pressing into the plastic.

Not the “normal” place you would expect them to go is it.
