ParticipantSorry Guys – In my grumpy mood and just got to get this of my chest..
Been to two of these just recently both Zanussi
1) machine not working.. no lights at all on when on/off switched.. spend 10-15 min struggling in tiny cluttered laundry room in mansion type house.. (think the loo was bigger than the laundry room!). to find out it was a faulty pilot lamp.. Oh yes, says lady, that never works!.. grrrr.. ignore pilot.. put in dig mode just to tell me no tacho feedback.. (which means 99/100 motor not turning and the brushes are worn).. DO I REALLY NEED A COMPUTER TO TELL ME THE MOTORS NOT BLOODYWELL TURNING!!!.. Don’t manifactures know service engineers have eyes and a bit of common to tell that.. Good old machine I would have just switched to spin and come to that conclusion in 30 sec.. faulty pilot lamp or not.. instead took at least 10 min to get there… grrrr..
2) Go to machine on tue.. stopped on wash partially full of water and m/c shut down.. m/c wont start.. look at m/c new ZWF type and no diagnostic info (Thinks no good messing as machine wont even start up)..so go back to day armed with dignostic print out off TDS disc.. Find daughter been.. emptied filter and machine working fine.. DO I FEEL A PRAT..grrrrr.. I could have found that out if I could have got the m/c to start!!.. (Just wonder how many people will scrap these machines because its stopped working due to a blocked filter!)..
Computerised machines are here to stay by the looks of it so it looks like our job is getting more and more frustrating with overcomplicated inaccessible screw-less under engineered rubbish m/c’s..
Give me a machine that has signs and symptoms, and allows me to use my own diagnosic skills and expeeriance anytime over these computerised rubbish that treat me like a moron..
Don’t get me wrong self dig has got its place but if only manifactures could get together and standerdise something we might stand a chance.. (In my dreams)..
Thanks goodness for the error codes post..
Good grief.. what a rant.. definatly getting old and grumpy.. :rolls:

Yes, when I bought my first automatic machine about 20 years ago I chose a push button, computerised Servis, thinking that the old motorised mechanical timers seemed antiquated. I thought that within a year or two all machines would be push button operation. It has taken a lot longer to happen but now I wish they had stuck with the antique timers! :rolls:
