B/i smeg dwi612c (with the weird spinny arm)

fills drains/ bursts fine for the firs 5 times as usual, then circ pump kicks in and runs fine for about 2 mins before it just going dead. no humming or anything, and this is hte same on every prog, this isnt one with a div motor/flow impellor, or other fancy stuff, pretty basic model.

heater element ok, regen valve 3.06k ohms, fill valve works obvs, drains to empty fine so pump must be ok, the fact the circ motor works for 2 mins pretty much means its fine? pcb can only be corrupted as no burnouts, and i cant think of anything else!

any general views? i dont know why but smeg dw seem to come along like fudging buses!

from what you are saying i will make one assumption. when it goes dead if you turn off and on again you can reset the prog and start again

poss answer chack for capacitor power supply on pcb

if power supply is low fault will proceed as follows

machine starts pumps and fill ok. main motor starts and 2 mins in heater relay cuts in. at this point there is not enough power to keep going and pcb crashes

    worth a look

Smeg = always check for split mains supply suppressor or damage to dispenser coil – both cause electrical “noise” and interfere with the PCB. Extra demand ie:- when heater or motor are switched in will exacerbate the problem leading to all sorts of spurious faults.
    Good luck……… 😕

certainly sounds like its the “extra demand” causing it to crash. im assuming if the heater was disconnected it would just abort to an error code rather than work, albeit cold?
