I need a new insulation tester, but dont want to spend megger bucks (boom boom). All the ones I have looked at seem very pricey and have too many functions. Can any one recommend a decent one?

Also, do many of you spend money getting yours recalbrated?

Or around Gloucestershire, same happened to me, is someone educating the skag heads now that DVD players aren’t worth a toss?

Got mine from screwfix direct for £99, should be calibrated really. But a new one will be calibrated for 12 months anyhow.

Ebay, Bought a real nice digital Mega that does a few other functions brand new for £150.00 with case.

As regards callibration you would need to send it to a specalist firm for that but I have always checked my own megger using resistors which give you a double check as to if the instrument does require service.

    Are your resistors in calibration?
