Item number 4907989 at ArgosThe Argos website does not give a model number for the oven.
But it quotes the dimensions as 60cmx60cmx60cm.This doesn’t seem to be standard size and I don’t think it will fit in to the Ikea oven housing (I am getting an Ikea kitchen installed).
Note: I don’t have the Ikea housing yet but I believe it is standard size. The Ikea worktop is 60.6cm deep so it would make sense that the deepest the oven + housing can be is 60cm in total, not just for the oven.
Most ovens seem to be 56.4cm deep so I am worried about the 3.6cm!
I am sorry I can’t post a model number, but as mentioned, it’s not on the Argos website and that’s the only info I can find.
So, I think perhaps the oven is no good, or perhaps it’s just that Argos’s website is not giving the right dimensions. So… before I order… I need to ask in here.
Thanks
James

The dimensions quoted are pobably the overall dimensions of the appliance – ie 600mm width across the front, not the oven body behind; similarly the depth probably includes 20mm odd for the depth of the facia.
As for the exact dimensions, I’m sorry, I haven’t a clue!

Thanks.
I thought that it could be the overall dimensions including the housing but all the other ovens on their website indicate being 56.4 deep.
Is there a Homark website available? The only one I can find is http://www.homark.com which isn’t right…

KeymasterHonestly James, spend a bit more and get a better oven and hob. 😉
They should fit into a standard IKEA carcass with no problem and so will most others when you want to replace them.
They ain’t so good.

Thank you kwatt got the advice.
I know it’s not a particularly good set but I am only going to be using this 3 or 4 times per week, MAXIMUM and only for a few months before I sell the flat I am in. I just need something cheap and cheerful and I can let the new owners do what they want with it afterwards, which is why this seemed ideal.
I will look at other options as well though… Argos’s website indicate I can return on delivery if I am not happy with it so my concerns about this one are somewhat aleviated by this.
Thanks,
James

Hi James,
This is a brand new model that has just been launched by Argos under the Homark banner.
It is a static oven in s/steel (cool touch door) with a gas hob with auto ignition sourced from Turkey packed in 1 box.

I’ve now taken delivery of this oven, its model number is HM~BEO60S. I imagine the S is becuase it is the stainless steel model, but if I search for “Homark BEO60S” and various other combinations I don’t get any hits from google.
The external dimensions on the instructions say it is 59.5 deep, but having measured it is only 56.4 from the back of the body of the oven to the front of the door. At the front, the handle extends beyond this, and at the back, the power supply cable seems to extend slightly beyond this, but I’m sure that won’t be too much of an issue.
Thanks everyone for your help, the oven looks pretty good, even thoguh its cheap, so hopefully when I sell peopel will be impressed!
🙂
