Thick ice is forming in a recess at the bottom of the freezer compartment of my Bosch KGH34X04GB frdige/freezer. I have looked for a drain hole in the compartment, including removing the back cover, but can’t find one. I’ve checked temperatures, they seem to be correct.
(I haven’t been very impressed by this appliance, the temperatures have been good but plastic shelves and handles are not up to the the job and very expensive to replace.)
There isn’t a drain hole and not supposed to be one.
It’s an air-driven fridge and freezer so cold air is syphoned off from the freezer into the fridge, a fan unit at the back of the freezer behind the evaporator does that.
Thanks very much but I am still mystified. There is no water or ice dispenser nor any other way for water to enter. I have carefully checked the seals on both fridge and freezer doors, and cleaned the folds, and they seem to be working. (I have a lot of experience with magnetic seals as I used to work with acoustic doors.) There doesn’t seem to be any way for air to enter. Yet ice still forms on the bottom of the freezer, I guess about a millimeter a day, so I have to remove it weekly. Any other ideas would be much appreciated!
