    Hello everyone,

I purchased a new Bosch fridge freezer and it is around 1 week old. Within the first day of turning it on there has been a build up of a thin layer of frost on the interior back wall (just in the middle, never at the top or bottom). Sometimes it melts and is droplets of water and then sometimes becomes ice. This occurs every day.

I had a Bosch engineer look at it but claimed this is normal and all fridges work in this way today. But I’m a bit skeptical.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

as far as i know its normal. the fact it freezes does not mean the whole compartment will end up at 0 degrees. the colder that wall is the easier it can get the temp down to less than 5 degrees and its a big area to keep cool. the unit just defrosts it every now and then to stop the ice building up

    Thanks for the reply.

The issue I’m having is that it builds up frost every day and then at night it melts and then the next start day it builds up again and keeps repeating. I had a fridge for over 25 years and it only started building up frost towards the end of its life. However the engineer says it normal with new fridges. I was hoping to find out if this is the case.

as long as it does not build up and build up and build up there is no issue
