Hi,
I have 3 old fridges (two Indesit and one Smeg and all over 8 years old) and all build up a large transparent block of ice in the right corner at the back of the fridge.
It is clearly not normal condensation or a gasket not closing properly. It is not a blocked drain and anyway the ice is on the vertical part of the wall not the drain channels. It does not seem to be a problem with the thermostat either since the fridge temperature goes down when putting the dial on a lower number.
It gets a little better increasing the temperature of the fridge but the problem still occurs at setting 2 out of 5.
It looks to me the cause could be the refrigerant not circulating properly in the evaporator? could this happen?
I could not find anything on the internet on this specific problem
IS THIS A SIGN THAT THE FRIDGE IS ON ITS LAST LEG OF LIFE?
THANK YOU AND HAVE A LOVELY DAY!
