ice maker in lg american f/f

hi there has any one had any problems with lg ice makers. the one i have got is leaking water from the fill pipe to the ice tray. as it fills the ice tray it spills over the side of the tray. can any one recommend a solution to this

Hi

The water valve is quite possibly seeping and allowing water after it has turned off so this will need to be changed.

what model is it. There are settings on the main board for filling the tray.

Hi dealdd,

if its a new installation then its possible that the solinoid valve has been contaminated inside with debris, and as brian says it needs to be changed.
if the tray is just overfilling and the fill water is stopping, as alanj says post up the model no. as the fill rate can be adjusted.

model number is gr-l207eq. i dont think it can be the water valve as its not over flowing it seems to be splashing out as it fills, but fills with right amount of water. hope this helps

Grant I have had a few that spray over the left hand side, this then goes into the ice box and freeze solid and will break the blade of ice crusher. I have just bent the pipe back to the right and this has cured the fault. Take the ice tray out and then press the test button and you will see it spray over.

hi kirk this is what is happening but bending the pipe didnt work have you ever changed this pipe is it an easy thing to change

Hi Grant I have never had to change pipe on an LG done a few on other makes, why did it not work is the pressure to high? I’ll drop of some drawings for it hope it helps.

man thanks kirk have tried to turn pressure down but still the same will try to change the pipe and see how i get on thanks for your help
