ParticipantHaving trouble with locating spares for an ice maker, can anyone help?
i think this is an icematic ice maker but not sure.
it is badged up “nice ice” model N26 s.no. HE065/0407
i need the “rotational inspection “sensor and holder, its the one that sensors that the motor that drives the water paddles round stalls and then goes to defrost mode to release the ice cubes.
i’ve seen this machine with a few badges on it,it has a drive motor on the top that drives round a series of paddles that keep the water moving whilst it freezes, when the ice builds up and hits the paddles the shaft stops and a sensor or microswitch triggers and the defrost cycle beginns, the ice is dropped by phsyically falling out from a tray that lowers down.
thanks.

When you say ‘rotational inspection sensor’ do you mean the microswitch located on the left hand side? There’s a motor with a large(ish) circular piece of plastic with a notch cut out? The ice is bell shaped with the frozen prongs pointing down? White paddles and normally mostly blue plastic around the inside? If this is the machine and it is the microswitch I’ll get the relevant phone number and part number tomorrow if you let me know.

cheers for getting back to me,
it sounds like the same manufacturer, but this is the new model, they have done away with the old microswitch method and replaced it with a 3 lead sensor.the phone number would be great if poss.

There’s a company called GW Refrigeration +44 (0)1924 848100, they supply the machines, but there’s a cracking company called ACME refrigeration, (01254) 277999 very good for spares. Icematic do a N25, not heard of a N26, but seems to similar to be a coincidence. Another company who supply the paddle systems is Project Distribution, I know they used to do the ones with the microswitch system, so I’m assuming they’d do the newer design, 01782 280289. I haven’t got any number for Icematic on my phone, but will have a good look tomorrow in the office. Myself, I’d go to Acme and Project first as they’re good companies, but then again, GW actually supply the machines, not sure what prices their spares are though!!!

Just wondering if you had any joy with the parts?

ParticipantRe: ice maker spares
the only joy i have had is with GW refrigeration, who i phoned about 10 times but as yet have not given me a price or availability, but saying that i did manage to get the name of the people they get the spares from, they are called Legend Wholesalers, who i contacted this afternoon and have promised to get back to me on monday with regards the spares i need.
i’ll keep you updated when the job is done,as this could be a common problem with this model ice machine, the sensor is a real hunk of plastic junk compared with the microswitch mechanism.

Had a call out to a customer to repair a dishwasher and had a quick glance at her icemachine, a NiceIce N20, I’m sure it’s a Polar machine, have a look at
http://www.nisbets.co.uk/products/produ … opByBrand=
They also supply spares for the machine.
