    Hi,

The ice maker recently started leaking on my Whirlpool Fridge Freezer (S25D RSS33-A/G). See attached image:

The leak occurs even when the ice making function is disabled. Water will drip inside the freezer:

The only way I have been able to stop this is to isolate the water supply into the machine.

Could this be the solanoid (water inlet valve)? Or is it more likely to be the ice maker component inside the freezer? Or could it be something else?

The machine is over 10 years old and I’ve had my fair share of replacement back boards (four in total) but if this problem was relatively simple and inexpensive to fix then I’d be inclined to try to repair.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John-Paul

if you disconnect the valves electrical wires and it still lets in water then its the valve at fault

Thanks Dave, I’ll give that a go tomorrow morning.
Would it be fair to assume that if the valve isn’t faulty then it can only be the ice making unit inside the freezer?

    Thanks again.

dont know about that do not do a lot of fridges but valves are common to washing machines so thats simple.

if its not turned on it should not leak
