So, are we on? Has the equipment been ordered? I need to know when to have a haircut 😀
Also, just to re-itterate, (as I can’t quite remember 😳 😉 ) how much are the cards going to be? And what about multi engineer firms?

Not ordered as such, I need to transfer funds about first and TBH I’ve just not had time this week to do anything. 🙁
Good news is that I did speak to the company and it’s sorted. 😉
The idea was that we’d keep the subs at the £60+ per year and charge an extra £10 for each card over the first one. That way the sole traders get it included and multi=engineer businesses pay a little more to have more cards printed. This was so that, basically, the TA justifies the extra money rather than just a nondescript “pay us more ’cause you happen to be bigger” type affair.
TBH, I’d start telling people to get photos scanned now at 300dpi resolution or higher or, send a photo with skillset in to Nursery Street and we’ll scan them so that we’re ready to churn them out.

Just 1 question…..
What is the ‘operative number’ for?
Other than that…. Nice one 😀 I’ve got my boys getting passport photos done over the next week 😀

Is the ID card a standard issue for ALL members or, is it a have one if you want thing? Reason I ask, is that if it is standard issue, we could incorporate the ID card issue into our COP?

Operative number goes thus…
Joined date: 01 08 2004
Member Company number: 011
Operative/engineer card No.: 001
Hence, 010804011001, in this case so that even from just that we can track the card holder and every operative has their own unique identifier. Not essential right now, but in time it may be, I’m just thinking ahead as usual.

Every company entitled to one free of charge with membership.
Any more, charged for as there’s materials and time involved.
Can we make it or should we make it compulsory, I don’t know, which is why I think we should discuss it.

Top idea  Makes sence to have it.

IMO, it should be mandatory. Every member of the WTA should have an ID card, that way, if you take away the fact that it is pure professionalism and it can instantly instill trust between customer and engineer, as I’ve said, we can include it in our COP which is something no-one else has in this trade 😉

KeymasterPersonally I’d agree, but that’s just my opinion. I don’t think the cost is remotely restrictive or a barrier to it.
And, as you say, the benefits far, far outweigh any negatives. Even the ability to say “All our members carry unique ID cards…” is a lead methinks.

KeymasterI’m not going to comment, I’ve seen my own passport photo… scary. 😕
Anyways, can we move this over to the members forum as I reckon that we’re pretty much done here other than little bits of tidying up and design stuff?

What dimensions do you want the picture to be, I have a few on disc that I can ‘doctor’ to size. 😉
