ParticipantOur Bejam badged chest freezer has failed (tripping circuit breaker) after giving us 25+ years of service and it was purchased used so it has lasted well.
We needed a replacement urgently and considered new and used cabinet and upright units but eventually found a used PROline tall upright freezer on GumTree which suited our needs and could be delivered at short notice.
Other than the PROline make on the top of the unit, the only identifying mark is a label bearing the code ‘HPT14AH’ on the compressor. I would have expected there to be a model number on the outside or a label on the inside of the unit with more detailed product information but I was unable to find one when cleaning the freezer prior to loading it with our food items from the old freezer. However, I was working in poor lighting conditions and had to leave the appliance overnight to allow the coolant to settle after transportation so I was in a bit of a rush to fill it up in the morning before anything defrosted.
The freezer has approximate dimensions of 1400mm H x 600mm W x 505mm D and is white with three indicator lights in the top right of the unit (Red: Warning, Green: Mains-On, Yellow: Fast Freeze). The rotary temperature control next to the lights has the settings: 0-Min-Med-Max-FF.
Can anyone help with identifying this PROline upright freezer please?

It matters not as Proline were a Comet own label so, with Comet gone, there’s no information and pretty much no parts available now.

I am aware of the fact that, with Comet no longer trading, there is no direct support from the retailer or the manufacturer so I was hoping to tap into the knowledge here in the forum. If I can establish the model of freezer then I may be able to find more details on-line or even in this forum.
Also, as I understand it, Comet was not the only retailer to badge appliances from this manufacturer so it may well be that there was another make of this model of freezer for which documentation and parts are still available although I hope that I won’t be needing parts any time in the near future!
Can anyone else help?

It’s likely to be a Brandt (also no longer trading) or Gorenje but without a model number there is absolutely no way to find out. If it is even possible with the model.

Ah, I neglected to mention that it has two Fast Freeze shelves with drop-down doors at the top and four (well three and a half) drawers below.
Seem familiar to anyone?
