Went to a callout this morning at a local Takeaway, customer reported small shocks from the microwave & then it went off.
When I got there I found that the local handyman had built them a new counter & he’d run a nice extension lead for the Microwave, looked at the extension lead & thought it was a bit thin. Turns out that he only had 2 core flex so used that hence the shocks & used a 5 amp fuse in the plug which thankfully went o/c causing dead symptom, what a muppet.

Things like that are a regular occurance down here, most committed by currys own installation team, we should be able to report them to someone as this could have been deadly!

Totally agree with you mate, we should be able to report them. I tried reporting 1 to trading standards a while back, but as usual they were’nt interested. A few weeks later I had trading standards on the phone laying down the law because i’d been reported for a dodgy repair to some bints fridge freezer, they were’nt really interested in anything I had to say about the complaint so i ended up going to my solicitors & letting them sort it out. Major problem with the complaint was the fact that I don’t do refridgeration work & never have since I started in this trade.
