Hi Everyone,
After a full 10 years, our Indesit IDL500, started to make strange beeping noises on application of the on-off switch. This machine, remarkably, has survived daily use, it looks a tad battered with duct tape holding the front on.
However, on careful inspection, I replaced the mains power switch, the reset “tactile switch” and then confused I found the control board 240v tag connectors solder joints were dry.
It seems the heater element draws significant current through the mains switch and the board. So, by way of evidence I’m uploading here some pics of the board, and should you be capable of basic soldering, this is readily solved.
The control board derives it’s own dc supply from a low current circuit directly from the mains 240v, no transformer ! When the mains switch or the dry joints interrupt the power, the board gets into a reset loop.
This board appears to be used in very many Indesit and other brands, so heads up.
Hope this helps someone.
