g’day, i have an indesit IDL40 dishwasher which for some time has taken a good few hits on the start/reset button with a baseball bat to get it to work. Then it required that the selector knob wur turned all the way from 1 to 4 and back again before whacking the start /reset button to get it to start. now it does nowt . the power light comes on but no amount of gentle persauvsion can get it to start now.
before forking out for a hard to find pcb for it is there any other thing which could cause this? I have tried the lock micro switch and I don’t think it is the reset button.

    thanks fer any help TH

Hit it hard enough and often enough and you push the pcb back on it’s mountings and the buttons don’t work properly.

nah! the buttons are fine. i thought of that but as i have taken the front off and operated the switch direct it int that. I’d be surprised if you could push the card back on it’s mounts without breaking it as it’s screwed on, both the reset card and the main one.
