idl500 tripping mains when power on

Hello
I’m new to this forum and possess moderately practical capabilities eg have managed to clear out a blocked impeller pump and felt very proud of myself.

Back to topic: Does anyone know why it is likely my machine is tripping the mains?
I have a cheap digital multi meter and not clear how to use it. :rolls:

Grateful for any pointers on here.
Eg. Where to start with dismantling

A cheap meter won’t be much use for this fault. You need someone to use an insulation tester to find out which part is faulty. Usual faults are heater,mains suppressor, motor etc

Andy Jones thanks for the info. Would it be cheaper for me to get an expert ? Those good insulation testers look pricey at £331 if I’m not going to use it more than once.
