KeymasterHi,
We have an integrated Ignis freezer – model AFE275, about a week ago the freezer temperature started to rise inside (freezer is usually set to level 3 of 4 and has been fine for ages). Despite turning the freezer to the maximum level, slowly but surely the food began to defrost.
Anyway, the food had to be chucked away.
I took the opportunity unplug and to defrost the unit and clean it out hoping that when I turned it back on that it would be OK.
That was 2 days ago and the unit although cold inside it isnt actually freezing.
I do NOT believe that this was caused by ice build up (it seemed to be at the usual level) neither was the door left open at any point or the freezer too empty or too full.
The motor seems to kick in and out but it doesnt stay on for any long period of time.
A friend started to mention thermostats and thermsters… but I dont know anything about this kind of thing !!
PLEASE HELP !!!
Many thanks for any advice you can give
Many Thanks

Actually you may be able to help me. I have the integrated larder fridge arl100. I for the life of me cannot find the serial number, which I need to report a fault. The horrible people at the manufacture’s customer care departnent hung up on me as they would not understand that there is not a number on the inside compartment of my fridge. There is not ione on the guarantee. Please can someone look on their ignis fridge (the model quoted) an help urgently? 🙄

Sorry I mean I need the serial number. The door started to jom (not as in the music sort) and when we opened it to investigate a washer/screw fell out of a white plastic insert attaching it to the freezer. As it is attached to a woden facade (it is an integrated fridge freezer) it keeps on coming away from the woodedn bit. Therefore we have to only open it slightly or else it will fall off. It is def a prob with fridge, not the way it has been placed on wooden facade. Can you help? The serial number begins with a 85 and I think has 9 munbers on it.

Hi – reply to Lee
sounds like a gas fault, but may be worth checking the fan at the bottom
Unplug first
Then check plug is out
Remove wooden plinth (if present) and remove 2 screws from flat plastic plinth on appliance – the fan is on the left (you cant miss it). Check it is free of fluff and turns freely!
If the fan cannot remove the heat from the condenser – thats the big black grid on the back of a freestanding feezer, it wont cool!

I would imagine that Lee has had his appliance repaired or replaced now as it was posted on the 22 June
