this built in cooker doesn’t seem to work properly. The lower heating element doesn’t seem to switch on and the upper one comes on for a short while then switches off. Is this a fauty thermostat?

The grill function is ok so I guess the uppr element is ok

Any ideas what might cause the fault and how could it be reparired. Also might it cost more to repair than replace?

Can you check that model number please, it doesn’t exist 🙂

But, i think it’s just the base element has failed, the thermostat probe would normally be fairly near the upper element, hence the early shut off.

Sorry the model number is akl 404 not 424
do you know how I get at the old one to replace it? Do I need to remove the oven from the housing or is it accessible from inside the oven?

The oven has to come out of the housing to access, please remember to power off beforehand :zap:

If the element proves to be the problem, it’s part number 481925928847 at £35.84 inc VAT and carriage which we can obtain for you, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk 🙂
