ikea by whirlpool fridge

I know nothing about fridges but my son’s built in ikea fridge has stopped cooling the light is on but there are no noises at all.can anyone advise me if this is worth getting someone out to look at it or should he just replace it thanks in advance.

as a rule, fridges making no noise are cheaper/easier to fix than ones making noises but not cooling so might be worth a look at. If its a basic fridge it may only be a thermostat.

How old is it? All whirlpool appliances from ikea carry a 5yr warranty

thanks for the replies i will try a thermostat I dont know how old it is it was in the flat when he bought it.

I haven’t seen it yet but he says it has a round dial for adjusting the temperature but I don’t know wether it has a thermostat or not. I wad going to get a universal one to take with me.
