I have an Ikea Daglig glass ceramic hob of unknown age and history (it was already installed in my flat when I bought it). I believe it is produced by Electrolux.
To use the hub, the routine is obviously first to turn the unit on, and then once it’s on, to activate the desired zone(s) with the desired level of heat (on a scale from 0 to 9).
The other day, though, the hob stopped working properly. It’s still possible to turn it on and off, but as soon as I choose a heat level on one of the zones (doesn’t matter which one), the unit immediately shuts down and seemingly “reboots” – all LEDs turn off, then suddenly all the LEDs turn on in succession before they again turn off. (This is exactly how the hob behaves if I unplug and reconnect it.) If I then try to turn it on again and choose a heat level, it shuts down again and does the same thing. (It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the child lock.)
Does anyone here know what the reason for my hob’s strange behaviour might be? Is it a faulty control board? A blown fuse somewhere in the hob unit? Or does it indicate some kind of electrical problem in my flat unrelated to the hob? Is it likely that the hob will have to be replaced with a new unit?
