ParticipantHi all
needing some advice before i rip out my dishwasher,it’s an ikea whirlpool model dwf416f.
There’s a leak from somewhere underneath the left hand side facing the machine,it’s hard to see as there’s not a lot of room and access is very awkward.
It’s only leaking when it’s filling everything else is ok,so some questions.
A pic. to hopefully help.
Thing labeled 1 the container filled with orange foam like stuff, what is it.
No.2 appears to be a drip at the connection between no.1 i think.
No.3 leak could also be coming from there.
Over the course of a wash there’s about 250ml coming out but it’s only a matter of time before it get worse.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

The container with the “orange stuff” is the water softener and what you can see are the softener resin beads within it. That looks like a mains pressure infeed where the drip is hanging which is why it’s a reinforced hose.
I wonder if there’s a partial blockage within the softener which would cause full pressure to be applied at that connection…has the softener only ever had salt put in the reservoir and not accidentally had soap put in there? (I have seen it done before!)
In any case I would suggest getting a decent jubilee clip on there, make sure you get one for the correct diameter or it will go out of circular when done up if it’s too large.
When you have the hose off to replace the clip check that it’s a really tight fit on the spigot anyway, it shouldn’t have stretched because of the reinforcing but if it has, and you have enough length of hose then cut it back so “fresh” hose goes back on the spigot.
Plug out all all times…

Thanks for the reply clive,it’s definitely coming from there, i’ll try that at the weekend, time permitting, think it’ll be machine out for that as it’s really restricted for space but my son starts uni on monday so may not manage.
I’ll update when i can.
Cheers again
