Water level control failure. Two possibilities.

1/ Easy one. Pull the filters and look into the sump, find the black grille at the 3 o’clock position. This is the water level indicator; it fills with fatty congealed deposits and can jam the mechanism. A vigorous attack of hot water and toothbrush may get it working again. It’s possible that the microswitch has failed. The unit is a twist fit from underneath if you need to remove it. Power off, first.

2/ More complex. The flow meter in the fill matrix under the left hand side panel is not signalling. The usual problem is the connector to the little pcb. Removing it and cleaning the contacts, as well as giving the connector a good pinch will often get things going again.

Water indicator, if needed, is HERE.
Fill matrix, if needed, is HERE.

Stay safe, power off for anything other than observation.

thanks a lot for your reply – gave the bottom sections of the dishwasher a good clean, got rid of all the remnants of food etc and hey presto it started working again. The missus is off my back and the kitchen is shipshape yet again – thanks again!

Tell “THE BOSS” that rinsing the heavy deposits off the crockery prior to washing is essential – it’s a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit……. 😀 If you feel lucky, of course.
