Ikea Valgjord not using salt

Hello

I own an IKEA dishwasher Valgjord
Model: 911434343/06

The dishwasher is not using any salt at all. The level has not changed for months despite regular use of the machine.
As a result the glasses are coated with a white material (assumed limescale).

Are you able to confirm the solenoid (attached picture 173131) is responsible for the dishwasher to direct the fresh water into the water softener unit?

How can I test it?
Is there another way to find what could cause the salt not to be taken?

have you checked it ?

Hi, I am not too sure how to test it?
I took it out.
It was moving freely.
I used the multimeter, checked for continuity. It was not working.
I checked the resistance it was indicating 3.7kOhms
Is there a way of testing it in place?

no you have done enough to prove its ok. at least the coil is

when you got the dishwasher did you test and set the hardness levels for your area ?

Hi Dave,

The dishwasher is 5.5years old.
It was taking the salt normally until recently.

If it is not the regeneration valve what could it be?

well thats a hard one
the regen valve and sofner umit is controlled by the timer.

you would need to put it in service modes to see if all works

I am not able to find the exact maintenance manual for our dishwasher.
I have the user guide but this is of no interest.
But having reviewed the document contained in your link (assummed similar system) I am not able to proceed further.
Are you able to assist me for next step?

not taking salt is not a fault I have seen, Yet, so dont know exactly what and when the regen cycle is run

Hopefully the manual might give you a few ideas
