ParticipantI seem to be the only one with this model on this website – but I noticed I´m not the only one with this problem.
My dishwasher i stuck in a “loop” where it keeps on pumping out water – though there´s no water left in the machine. As soon as I turn the machine on the pump starts – even though it´s still open. It doesn´t matter if I change programs or try to reset it. I´ve left it running for about 1 hour – but it don´t ever stop.
I also cleaned out all of the filters, and I think I found the “waterlevelmeter”; cleaned that one as well. No change.
If I fill the machine by hand it pumps out all the water, but then it don´t stop when the water is gone.
You get the point I´ll think. It´s a Whirlpool dwf 407 for IKEA.

Sorry for my bad english; I´m from sweden.

Presumably the flood protection system has cut in. The base panel under the machine is probably full of water. Drain it off and find the leak.
Power off before tipping the machine.

I have the DWF 417 and it had the same problem. (continuous draining at the start of any cycle without ever stopping….)
Thanks to your help i tipped it drained the water and its all working properly again. Brilliant. I think some rice had clogged up the filter which has now been flushed clean.thanks so much. saved me a call out charge.
cheers

Hey!
I have a dishwasher Whirlpool DWF 407.
The pump pumping out the water form the machine keeps going over and over in short periods just like Jonas did. Im supposed to look behind a base panel for a leak and wipe off the water?
Is there any chance you can explain this a bit more.
Ive taken off both side plates and front plate in black plastic underneath but I cant detect any water leak or any plate except the big bottom plate.
A answer would be so great, I have to do the dishies now 😆January 3, 2009 at 8:48 pm #242857michelaone

I have the DWF 407 and the problem is that towards the end of the washing when the machine should drain the water and dry the dishes, it stands by, beeps twice, then tries to drain with no result and it loops again…
…this means that to reach the end of the program it takes a very long time!
A technician told me that the electronic circuit has to be changed and that the cost should be of 250!!!
do you think he is right?? Could you please help me??
Sorry for my bad English, I am Italian…

Iv taken my dishwasher down a bit in peaces but didnt find any errors,
I didnt have the same fault as Jonas, I understand now that it was the bottom plate that is mentioned and I have no leak but found the “floater” causing their problems.
I have the same problem as you michelaone but it has gone even longer, my washer started out as yours but now it only beeps twice and loops from teh start.
Ive ordered a technician coming on monday, I hope it wont be crazy expensive! Well see :rolls:January 5, 2009 at 3:54 pm #242859Slusken
