    Hi folks.

Hope someone can help, have persistent F2 error on a 2005 Ikea Whirlpool DWF 415 S integrated dishwasher, Service code: 8545 4151 5710.

Inherited on buying a house 3 years ago, informed it had never been used (looked new inside). After using ok a few times, then machine stopped, got 2 flashing lights.

After research on this and other forums, identified F2 fault code = drip tray full, took off front lower inspection panel (after power off) and drained water. Reset and used again, same F2 code after a couple of washes, drip tray full again.

During programmes, machine pulses to check is empty, fills ok, runs wash prog and drains ok, but leaks lots of water into drip tray each time.

To check for water leak source, ran machine on each Prog 2 & 3 with front lower inspection panel off (great care not to go near), observed water running into tray only from small ribbed breather/overflow pipes on both front left and right sides during programme (mostly during wash part of cycle). No other leaks visible from any components or connections.

Ran prog 3 again with both pipes turned forward from drip tray floor, each into separate plastic trays, measured about 600mls water, mostly from RH pipe, during programme run, which is too much water for drip tray to evaporate between washes. This happened without any detergent present, so is not overfoaming.

Have tried to run the Whirlpool Diagnostic test (as posted by Penguin45), but seems it won’t run on this machine.

Any suggestions as to cause of water overflows would be appreciated.

Yeah, it’s level all round, feet are correctly set as it’s built into a kitchen cupboard appliance housing unit.

Since OP I have done some more testing – during a Prog 2 run, after filling, it started leaking through overflow pipes, when I opened main door, water level was up to underneath of lower spray arm and bottom of door! Surely this is much too high, could this be due to Water Indicator/Level failure?

Re: Ikea Whirlpool DWF 415 S persistent F2 error (overfillin

Has no-one got any suggestions as to cause of my persistent overfill problem?? 🙁

I’ve assumed it’s not the same issue as Dave_Conway’s 27 May 2005 described “Smeg And Others E2 Dishwasher Error”, as Whirlpool components & layout are different, with no secondary water level switch (except the drip tray float) that I’m aware of.

And because I only inherited the machine, I was hoping to attempt a repair myself :eeek: with some expert guidance, if the problem component could be identified and was not too costly, rather than pay an engineer call-out & repair charge, which would probably come close to a new machine cost anyway.

Also, I do like to have a go and get my hands dirty sometimes, having managed to successfully replace the drum seals & bearings on a Philips 1400 washing machine before. 😯

So if no assistance from this forum is forthcoming, I may as well scrap it and replace, if can’t fix myself! 😥

    So, any ideas, anyone?

After further research, assume problem is either with Water Inlet solenoid valve, Fill chamber matrix (flowmeter?) or Diaphragm pressure switch, possibly which either need cleaning out, or may have failed?

As no-one has posted any answers or suggestions since my OP, it looks like no-one here has any answers then? Disappointing. 🙁

Have therefore had to post issue on another DIY forum for help. :eeek:

Just seen your above post “hvc123”, but it’s not worthwhile, as completely nil response on the other forum, which with only response here being “You sure it’s level?” equals no help at all. I’m by no means an expert but think I’d have spotted a level issue myself. Seems some DIY Forums are not all they’re cracked up to be – where is all the ‘expert’ advice supposed to be available?
