I have an Ikea Whirlpool DWF 415 integrated dishwasher. At the moment it is completing it’s full cycle ok, but on filling with water each time it keeps cutting out – on and off on and off every couple of seconds, (the light goes on and off with this). It does eventually get water and continue, I assume it’s trying to fill with water at this point as if I switch the sink tap on I see the flow increase and decrease in line with the dishwasher going on and off! It still appears to wash the dishes ok, but it’s not right and something needs fixing.

It’s an integrated one and a bit of a nightmare to get out. I feel like I should be checking some inlet filters but sadly haven’t a clue where they are. It has been working fine for several years and nothing has moved so I don’t think the inlet pipe is kinked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Inlet valve breaking down is one possibility, mad computer the other.

Water valve is HERE. PCB would be an order part and rather pricey…….

Thanks for your super prompt reply. Before I rip my kitchen apart I assume it needs pulling out ie can’t be accessed from the front somewhere? Is it worth checking any filters to rule them out? If so where are they?

Valve can only be accessed from the rear/underneath – sorry 🙁 . Even the inlet filter is in the valve, at the back………

Power off if you’re going to do this yourself.

Looks like it wasn’t the inlet valve – after replacing it I still have the same symptons – on-off-on-off-on-off until the water is full then it works as normal.

I don’t fancy buying the PCB just on the offchance so I might have to admit defeat, unless you have another idea?

Is there any possibilty of a refund on the valve?

    Regards,
    Nick.

Sorry to hear that, Nick – remote diagnosis is always a calculated risk; I can only tell you stuff based on my experience – there are times when it’s an “either or” problem.

I don’t know if there is a returns policy or not – drop a line to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and ask the question.
