    Hope someone can help here.

Towards the end of normal cycle the DWF416 start to beep continuously, as if end of cycle notification, but on and on and on.

When I opened the door the start light was flashing twice.

I knocked it on and off, on the unit and at the plug.

I have since found my users manual and that suggests the flashing will identify a filter cleanliness issue.
Both the main filter and mesh filter have been removed and cleaned – nothing really there, and the cycle completed on closing.

I then put the unit on rinse to check and the same thing has happened again.
Seemingly a pump starts up as the cycle commences – I guess the drainage one to clean out before the clean water is feed through.
All the while now however the beeping is incessant.
On the door being opened the start diode flashes twice, then off then twice again and then recurring.
If I cancel the start button and close the door, the beeping will start again.

Is this a drainage/ blockage issue or something else?

It’s leaked into the undertray. Drain out to reset the float switch and find the leak.

Power off if removing any panel, or click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

    Thanks.

I looked but saw nothing there – although the o ring sealing the water feed to the bottom spray arm seems very loose.

Would this leak eventually dry out?

I know I’d be faced with it again if that was the case – but – hey saves washing up by hand.

You’re looking in the wrong place. Pull the machine out, tilt it backward slightly (have towels handy for any spillage). If water appears on the floor the base of the machine is flooded.

    Tried that.

Will the removal of the water (not a lot) automatically reset the float switch?

    Re: Ikea Whirlpool DWF 416

Yep. When the base is empty the float goes down and the switch resets itself.
If there is no water in the base (not the inside of the wash cavity) then you’ll need to get an engineer in to have a look.

    OK.

Did everthing but couldn’t find the leak path.

Called in a fitter, who identified the pipework on the pump as the leak path.

He’s tried to see if Whirlpool will replace the pipe, but with no real sucess – it seems to be an issue of buying the pump only.

Is this the case, cos a new dishwasher looks to be a similar price.

Can you guys confirm/ deny/ help?

    I’ll think about it then.

I’ll come back to you or Mr Conway.

Is the £120 the all in price or plus vat and shipping?

Please advise and thanks for the advice so far.

There are two versions of this model with two different circulation pumps, I would need the long number starting with 85 please from the rating plate to identify/price correctly 🙂

The motor Bryan refers to is not the right one for either of them (although similar) 😉

In that case the motor complete (you do have to buy the whole thing) is part number 481236158336 at a shocking £161.86 inc VAT (plus carriage) from Whirlpool 😯

It has been mentioned in these forums that the hose can be repaired though 😉

    Re: Ikea Whirlpool DWF 416

The price scared me. New Dishwasher is the next option.

Where can I find reference to the hose repair? Shrouded or replacement?

I can spend a bit of time on this to repair the hose/ pipe work, if you can assist me with your knowledge.

Please provide some pointers and I’ll take the chappy apart.

    Many thanks.

Personally I’ve not repaired the hose but it’s been mentioned before.

    Use the search function here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ile=search

Select the dishwasher support forum from the dropdown then search for “whirlpool and hose” (exactly that without the quotes), it’ll be there somewhere 😉

    Re: Ikea Whirlpool DWF 416

Right – found many conversations on the hose topic.

I’ll cut the hose and replace with some PTFE hose/ rubber hose, clip it and see it it works.

Will advise in the next few days if I haven’t smashed the dishwasher up in bloody-knuckled rage.

Many thanks for your help so far.
