Ikea Whirlpool DWF 417 beeping annoying

Have a problem with an Ikea sourced Whirlpool DWF 417, basically after starting any program it’ll stop and give two short beeps then one long one. This’ll then repeat and repeat and repeat.

Sometimes it could have been coaxed back into life and would get to almost the end of a cycle but then you’d have to use the rinse cycle to empty it. Now it’s not working at all and out of some fifty attempts today its only managed one rinse cycle.

Any advice or I might have to wash by hand….

The number on the machine is:

Also I would be happy to find an engineer but the ones on the search do not seem to be based in Teesside (Norton Village?)

Normally, if these machine fault, you should get flashing lamps on the panel – 5 will light, the other 4 may flash in various combinations. Faulty door latch may also prevent the machine from starting correctly. We seem to have had a rash of faulty mains supressors recently, which can throw the programming off as well.

Power off fo you are investigating this yourself.

No flash codes I’m afraid, just the light of the selected program flashing continuously once you open the door which is normal. It beeps too, around about nine beeps, but that’s just the normal amount once you interrupt a program.

Forgot to mention it but the two short beeps and then the long beep is accompanied by (on the two short beeps) the sound of a motor making a noise that then stops on the long beep and then it repeats and repeats.

Tried switching it off at the switch and off at the mains overnight to no avail.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

By the way it’s not a faulty door latch it can get a few minutes into the program before it stops and up to then it’s all healty and seems to be doing normal dishwasher duties.
