The dishwasher fills with water but fails to start washing, if I open the door and hold down the start button for a few seconds the program can be cancelled, closing the door then results in the water being pumped out.

    Hi
This is a Whirlpool made unit for IKEA. Under normal fault conditions the start lamp should flash a certain number of times which denote a fault code.
Please count them and type back 😉

Hmmm tough one when it is left for ages the water is heated and I assume after the normal running cycle time has elapsed, it bleeps intermittently instead of the solid long tone to indicate program finished, is the fault code only displayed if i let it run a so called full cycle.

At the moment the start lamp is constantly lit

When it bleeps quickly, open the door carefully and look at the start lamp flashes 😀 .

Ouch if thats the case its looking like a £100 repair plus labour, time for a new machine maybe.

While Im on how do I remove the door facia front, that is fitted to this integral machine.

Slacken the 2nd and 4th screws down on the inside of the door – the outer panel will drop away.

The bloody thing ran ok for 3 cycles this weekend and last night circulation pump failed to fire up again, it tried to go for a split second then nothing, it just sits full of water, could it be a float not quite reaching a limit/micro switch?

Re: Ikea Whirlpool DWF B10 fault

I have a 2 year old Ikea Whirlpool DWF A10 – it seems to be demonstrating the same fault as richard3009’s B10 and I’m keen to know what richard3009’s course of action was after his last posting.

    My symptoms are:
Turn machine on and it makes a filling noise.
The water comes in and fills the bottom of the dishwasher – crockery is dry/damp – it doesn’t seem the water is coming from the rotating arms.
If left in the on position, it seems to be in a constant state of pause, heating the water at the bottom and not much else.
I can pump the water out, by cancelling the programme and pressing the start button for a few seconds.

The A10 model that we’ve had never has had any bleeping noises – also the green on light is either on or off.

I don’t really have to dip into my back pocket to the sum of £200 which seems to be the going rate for the equivalent model at Ikea now. I’m lookinf forward to your replies and hope help is out there!

    Many thanks – Jonesy12

I think you’ll find the answer there.

Rats; I was rather hoping you weren’t going to say that. Is it coincidence that an A10 and B10 give up the ghost after 2 years active service. Do I replace the dastardly device or do I go the whole hog and by a new one? Thanks, Jonesy12.

    That’s the replacement:
    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/product_ … cts_id=653

Pretty straightforward to fit, though the locking clips can be rather awkward. Main thing to be aware of is the razor sharp edges everywhere.

If you replace with another Whirlpool, you’re buying the same dodgy pump – the replacements just don’t go wrong.

There is a slight possibility that the pump is blocked, BTW. Bits of chicken bone are quite capable of jamming the motor.

Okay, that gives me a little hope! I will sign off for this evening and have a play around tomorrow. Have a good evening, Jonesy12.
