Ikea/Whirlpool DWF406, beeps and blinks a sequence of 4 flas

Hi,
Our DWF406 runs the program and it ends prematuraly with beeping and when you open the mashine, the start button flashes in a sequence of 4 flashes. I can reset that by holding it and restart the program but with the same result, any ideas ?

Drain not detected in 4 minutes. Usual suspect is the Water Indicator. This is the black grid in the sump under the filters. It has a bad habit of filling up with condensed fat and goo and jamming in the full position. You can attack it with hot water and a toothbrush in situ; this may clear it. If not it will have to be removed and cleaned more thoroughly. There is a microswitch attached to the unit – the spring can fail, causing it to stick in the closed position.

It’s this component HERE if required.

Power off if you need to remove it.

Dear Penguin45,

Thank you very much for your suggestion, which worked perfectly in my case. I had the same problem; the machine stopped during a washing program and started beeping. Led blinking in sequences of 4.

I took your advice and cleaned the part with a tootbrush and hot water and directly after that the machine worked fine again.
