ikea whirlpool dwh b10 4 flashes

i have had an ikea whirlpool dwh b1o for about 3 years. it has recently started to stop part way through a cycle with the start button flashing 4 times. i have already read some other very useful posts suggesting it may be related to draining. in my case it is draining ok so there doesnt appear to be a problem with the pump or a blockage. ive tried cleaning the black grid with boiling water also.

i am not keen on taking anything to bits – i would appreciate advice whether i need to call out an engineer or whether it is something that i can attempt.

hi it sounds to me you could have a faulty presso stat, quite a common problem on whirlpool dishwashers

Usually very simple…look in the sump at about the 3 o’clock position, you will see a grid which is probably clogged up. Clean it thoroughly with hot water and a toothbrush…don’t poke anything sharp through as there is a rubber diaphragm behind which you might puncture.

If it won’t clean up like that you will need to remove it completely (bayonets in from underneath) and carefully take it apart.
