This has been laying unused for a year . Check Water light on. Took the jug out and blew it, and tightened the connector to it. Worked well for a test then put it onto 3 other programmes and the light came on again.
Never known one work on and off but ordered a jug.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks

Not too many other than the jug itself Rob TBH. On this model the check water light can come on if the water inlet system is blocked in some way (i.e gunged transfer pipe etc) or there’s not enough flow via the circulation pump. Other than the more obvious being the water inlet supply interrupted in some way. …? 😕

I go with you on this and say impellor jug! 😀

It’s a clean as a whistle, just out of the guarantee. As usual it is miles away in the back and beyond so would have been good for a first time fix.
Out of interest is it the impeller or the pcb that goes?

I’m not entirely sure TBH but suspect it may be the reed contact that fails rather than the impellor wheel and magnet…but not sure. 😕

If the impellor jug fails , you should get a constant fill/drain/fill/drain cycle as the machine reaches its fill level – The ‘check water’ light will also come on if the incoming water pressure/flow is too low and also if the appliance doesn’t drain , this can cause it too .

Normally its the 1st sympton…..the constant fill/drain/fill drain that is the cause – New impellor jug required – IMPORTANT TO ENSURE THE NEW ONE IS FITTED CORRECTLY SO THAT THE WATER FLOW IS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION ( ARROW ON IMPELLOR JUG SIDE ) AND TO KEEP THE JUG AS UPRIGHT- ALONG THE LATERAL LINE – AS POSSIBLE !!

    Re: Impeller Jug

A reed switch is switching on and off many times every second during fill; albeit only at 5v I believe. So that’s quite a bit of wear n’ tear on the contacts. Not surprising they can go intermittent sometimes. Cheaper than chips from RS.

    Mike,
you think it’s the pcb. What’s the part at RS and would that one fit the Whirlpool too? I will get some for future use.

    Re: Impeller Jug

I bought some the other day for a Whirlpool. Worked a treat. I think it’s same ones for Bosch. 2293692 min. qty 5 @ 52p +vat ea. incl. del.
