Dispatches on Channel 4, dunno if it’s being repeated but there’s a section at the start that highlights the problems disposing of refrigeration.

Quite interesting really, in the opening section they were trying to dispose of a fridge, or multiple fridges and it was intimated that to get rid of a fridge as waste around London could cost £100. Obviously they were investigating dodgy characters that were crushing them for between £5 and £30 illegally.
The high cost of disposal now leading to fly-tipping of such things aside from the fact that they are supposed to have specialist disposal.
