ParticipantHi,
Just thought I’d say how pleased I’ve been with Affresh. Started keeping it on the van as trade price through UKW is £5.58. Tend to sell it to customers at £5 per tablet or £9.95 for the pack.
Obviously it’s not huge amounts of profit but it all adds up over the year – plus when I go to a “clear filter, 5 mins” job I can throw in an Affresh tablet to make them feel as if they’ve got better value for money.
Anyway, went to an AEG last week. Customer had washed a fluffy throw and this bloody stuff had got all around the drum until it had packed solid and thrown the belt off. Was in the sump, inlet hose, everywhere!
Took about an hour to get enough out to get the drum turning again – filled a whole washing up bowl. Anyway, cleared filter three times then advised customer to use an Affresh tablet and call me back in a week to have another look at the filter.
Went back and filter, sump, etc. were absolutely gleaming and free of fluff. The Affresh had dissolved all the remaining fluff saving another heater element.
Definitely powerful stuff and well worth considering keeping on the van.

It may be good stuff but surely the small profit on Affresh is going to
be cancelled out by all those door seal jobs, blockages etc you wont get.I personally wouldn’t be promoting a product that will reduce the jobs I’m getting.
I always advise on maintenance washes blah, blah, blah. But nothing of
such a quick instant fix, blow that!!!!November 23, 2010 at 5:14 pm #336708odom

It’s thishttp://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Cleaning … eaner.html
Personally I’ve found that people only deal with blockages when it stops draining altogether, e.g. coin or bra wire in filter. Likewise with door seals, even if they’re absolutely disgusting unless they’re leaking people don’t care about changing them.
I don’t think Affresh would cure either of those things – but even if it did, I’d still do it because it’s much easier to get jobs on machines that last, even if you get fewer jobs overall, than getting no jobs on throwaway Indesits etc. that are just replaced.

Not only descales heaters but dissolves “fluff” eh? Bloody hell what’s in it, sulfuric acid? What the hell does it do to the drum shaft seal I wonder? 😯 😕

Could use that in the morning and it’d save me shaving 😆

Perhaps you should increase that price a bit, my trade price from Connect is £10.17 Inc. VAT.

How much do you charge for it, if you don’t mind me asking?

I think I’ll stick to advising my customers to do a 90 degree service wash with bleach based powder to be honest. :rolls:
Many machines I come across are in a right old state and if I start flogging Affresh off the van and it’s as powerful as you’re suggesting it will create too many recall problems. If it lifts off great lumps of limescale and dissolves fluff in the process then the pump and outlet hoses are going to block up in no time. Customers will then expect me to come back and sort it by complaining …”……well YOU sold it to me and I didn’t have a problem before YOU came….!!”
Sod that hassle just for a couple of quid profit on a packet, not me pal! 🙁
