Hi,
I currently have a Liebherr upright freezer that is 12 years old. It seems to be packing up, it doesn’t freeze properly and the seal needs replacing. I’ve been quoted £188 for a new seal by Liebherr and I don’t think its worth spending that money on a freezer that seems to be on its last legs.
So I’m looking for a suitable replacement. My budget is around £600 though may consider spending more if it seems worth it. I’d like something big- the more capacity, the better. I wasn’t too impressed with the Liebherr overall, the freezing was very slow.
What are your thoughts on Samsung and Bosch? Or any other recommendations? I want to steer clear of Hotpoint/Indesit because of safety concerns.

Thank youSamsung offer 5 year warranty on some models but do have thier flaws from what i read , Most of the other makes are copies of Chinese versions i.e daewoo rebadged as Bosch. For warranty to price ratio i dont think samsung can be beat to be fair but liebherr are better though more costly. If you feeling adventurous go for a Chinese made one like hisense reference designs so spares are available but experts here know more than me.

I had lots of trouble finding a model thats in stock- seems that the lockdown created shortage of appliances. I went down to John Lewis, they didn’t have a single upright freezer in stock!
So I ended up buying a large Samsung simply because that was what I could get my hands on. I do hope it won’t be a choice i’ll come to regret, but then it wasn’t really much of a choice. It was simply that or nothing!
So far it looks marvellous. Really spacious and clean looking. Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
