just had a customer ring saying I’ve done her washer and cooker in the past do I do plumbing? No sorry but whats your problem? Under the sink there is a flexible hose that goes between the copper pipe and the tap that has sprung a leak. oh says I thats a simple job any plumber will soon sort that for you. Yes but I was getting some quote and there all about the same £100 plus parts plus vat.
    You can only dream!

So Wilf, did you follow it up, a ton is not to be sneezed at, be cheaper and make it spot 90 notes in hand, customer has obviously a good opinion of you.

I was very tempted but I once caught a cold changing a hot tap when a gate valve snapped and I had to get a plumber in, a long shot I know but I dont want a repeat. In the end it cost me a free boot on the plumbers Zanussi.

You’d also probably need to add plumbing to your public liability insurance policy – insurers would see this as a separate trade.
