If it’s the plastic outer tub type it doesn’t, the whole inner and outer is one part. Quite a few of the new Indesit and Aristom machines are being made like this.
Part number C00095889 at £111 ex VAT list so it will be scrapped no doubt. The age of the disposeable washing machine forced upon an unsuspecting public.
In fact I have a plan, why not get the sheds to take all the Merloni machines straight to landfill and cut out the middleman ❗

Doesn’t this practice of ‘non – repairable’ machines fly in the face of WEEE regs? The careless waste of materials; not to mention the water, electricity and fuel needed to manufacture, transport and dispose of these machines is surely what the legislation is trying to combat. If not, then why legislate at all? The older machines were surely much more enviromentally friendly than this modern rubbish.
Also, the customers would have a watertight case under the Sale of Goods Act as these machines are surely not of merchandisable quality and not fit for purpose. The Act covers such things for a period of up to 6 years. (only possible from a Merloni machine if it is left boxed)!
There has always been rumblings in the trade about ‘the end of our industry’, could this be the writing on the wall? 🙁 -
