Going tomorrow morning to have a look. Customer says it fills for wash then just sits there and does nothing except count down the minutes in display, right down to zero I think he said. He reckons no error code is displayed. If however he starts a rinse or spin programme it will rinse and spin perfectly fine.
Do I remember somebody saying something like no error code for open circuit element or is that just wishful thinking?

O/C heater will cause the machine to stick on the wash cycle without an error code.

Well, heater was open circuit. No sign of a reason for that. P/sw not blocked and must be functioning OK, otherwise it would give an error code. Ntc OK too. Will replace element and hope it was just having a bad day.
