Participantok so a load of you guys on here are ex manufacturer engineers.
other than self-taught training, and working for a brand, where can you get official or authorised training on appliances?
im quick at picking things up, and hungry too. thing is manufacturers will tie you into that employee loyalty contract thingy which wont allow you to work independantly of them.
so any college/uni courses out there?

Basically unless you are an authorised Service Agent working for a manufacturer or service provider getting specific manufacturer training will be very difficult, have a look in training forum you might get some pointers there.

Did the Graham Dixon course, worth every penny.
Did an NVQ course at Hemel Hempstead college before that and it was pathetic.
I learnt more in two weeks with Graham Dixon than 7 months on the NVQ course which I gave up.November 6, 2009 at 6:38 pm #302766Troffy

i cant remember the cost but i did my training in june and iv’e made it back and more, and if you go independant you write it off in tax anyway so happy days all round, you need to get your head on because it’s a technical course but well worth the brain ache, the things you learn will save a lot of time on the job, still a steep learning curve when you go out on your own but i couldn’t of done it without Graham Dixons training, and all the extra stuff you learn not related to the course but running your business takes a lot of the fear away, coupled with being a member of UK Whitegoods it’s changed my life around, all for the good!
