ParticipantSorry no model no. yet. But I know it’s an old type with mechanical timer.
Customer reports that it completes cycle fine. Then blows the trip ❗
He says they can do another wash later on and it will do exactly the same again. They’ve been living with it like this for a couple of weeks but are now fed up with having the lights keep going out.
The machine is out in a shed but it’s normally quite dry in there. (Long standing customer). Maybe it’s something to do with all this weather we’ve been having lately.
Going to have a look Tuesday afternoon.
Any suggestions?March 9, 2009 at 5:02 pm #279664Martin

Some of these older ones i seem to remember having a few where the heater wire frays, and what with the vibration on the spin etc.

Is it a washer dryer? If so, it could be the dryer heater down to earth, or maybe one of the brass nuts holding the heater into the heater box come loose, allowing the terminal to touch the heater box. Don’t laugh, I had this once, years ago. Machine would go through the wash program all the way to the end without any problems, then bang, blew the fuse as soon as the timer hit stop(dry).
Just a thought…..Dave

Went there this afternoon.
Dave, you were absolutely spot on. Dryer element was down to earth. Pity I didn’t see your post till I got back.
They never use the dryer so I just disconnected it. (The problem had started “when our daughter came round and used the dryer”)
So thanks guys (except for Martin of course 😀 – as if I’d forget my megger! )
